What is “Aletheia Theology”?
Aletheia means “Truth” in Greek. In John 18:38 Pontius Pilate asks Jesus “Ti estin aletheia?” or in English, “What is truth?”
We see the answer to this question in John 17:17, where Jesus says, “Sanctify them in truth, your word is truth.” Not only is the Bible the Word of God, but Jesus Himself is the Word. He is the physical, human embodiment of God’s Word. He is the truth that sanctifies us.
Pair that with “Theology,” which is the study of God, and you get the mission to discern the Truth of who God is as revealed in the Holy Bible. That is what Aletheia Theology is here for.
